Terms of Service
Last updated: July 3, 2026. Please read these terms carefully before making a booking or entering our establishment.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the BlackSheep Parlour website, making a reservation through our online booking system, or entering our physical premises at Protea Glen, Soweto, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our services or enter the establishment.
2. Booking & Reservation Policies
Blacksheep operates with limited seating capacity and artist availability. The following rules apply to all reservations:
- Reservation Confirmation: A booking is confirmed once you receive a confirmation email containing your unique reference code and QR code entry ticket. Present this at the venue upon arrival.
- Payment: Reserving a spot online secures your place; payment is collected upon arrival or via authorized digital checkout.
- Tattoo Consultations: Tattoo booking slots are free to reserve online. No deposit is required. The artist may adjust your time slot up to 1 hour prior based on scheduling needs — you will be notified of any changes.
- Late Arrivals: Reservations are held for a maximum of 20 minutes from the scheduled time. After 20 minutes, your reservation may be released to walk-in guests.
- Cancellation: You may cancel or reschedule your booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled time by contacting us at blacksheepglen@gmail.com.
3. Age Requirement
All visitors and clients must be 18 years of age or older. This applies to:
- Accessing the Blacksheep website (verified via our age confirmation gate).
- Receiving any tattoo services — a valid government-issued photo ID (South African ID card, passport, or driver's licence) must be presented before any session begins.
- Attending lounge events, in compliance with applicable South African liquor licensing regulations.
4. Tattoo Studio Safety & Conduct
To ensure a safe, hygienic, and professional environment, the following studio rules are strictly enforced:
- Sobriety Requirement: Clients must be completely sober. We will refuse to perform any tattoo work on anyone under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any intoxicating substance.
- Health Disclosure: You are required to disclose any allergies, skin conditions, blood disorders, medications, or pregnancy on our consent form prior to tattooing. Failure to disclose may result in complications for which Blacksheep cannot be held liable.
- Consent Waiver: All clients must review, sign, and date a consent waiver form at the studio desk before any tattooing work begins.
- Aftercare Responsibility: Proper aftercare of your tattoo is your responsibility. Our artist will provide aftercare instructions; any complications arising from failure to follow these instructions are solely the client's responsibility.
5. Lounge & Event Guidelines
The Blacksheep lounge is a curated social space built on quality, community, and mutual respect. The following applies to all lounge events:
- Dress Code: Smart casual is the minimum standard. Specific events may enforce a stricter dress code as communicated on the event listing. Sportswear, slides, and hoodies are not permitted.
- Conduct: Management reserves the right to deny entry or request any individual to leave the premises for disruptive behaviour, harassment of other guests or staff, or any conduct deemed inappropriate.
- Entry: A valid QR code ticket (received via confirmation email) must be presented at the entrance. The QR code will be scanned by our management team using the Blacksheep Management app.
- Capacity: Events have a fixed maximum capacity. Once sold out, no additional walk-in guests will be admitted.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including but not limited to the Blacksheep brand name, logo, custom tattoo designs created by our resident artists, event artwork, photography, and website design — is the intellectual property of Blacksheep. Reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of any content without prior written permission from management is prohibited.
7. Limitation of Liability
Tattooing involves permanent skin modification. While our studio adheres to rigorous sterilisation and hygiene standards, Blacksheep and its artists shall not be held liable for:
- Skin reactions, allergic responses, or infections resulting from failure to follow provided aftercare instructions.
- Dissatisfaction with a tattoo design that was reviewed and approved by the client before the session began.
- Loss of personal belongings on the premises.
- Injuries sustained due to a guest's own reckless behaviour at lounge events.
8. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and any applicable provincial by-laws. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Gauteng, South Africa.
9. Amendments
Blacksheep reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of our website, booking system, or premises after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
